POET provides update on cellulosic project at ACE Ethanol Conference

Project LIBERTY is the culmination of POET's research and development of cellulosic ethanol. It will be one of the first commercial scale cellulosic ethanol production facilities in the world. POET is currently in the first phase of its agreement with the U.S. Department of Energy and plans to start construction on the facility next year.

While POET continues to make strides in the development of cellulosic ethanol in the lab, one additional step is needed before the construction of the commercial plant. At the 21st Annual Ethanol Conference & Trade Show from ACE, POET announced that step during an update on its drive to commercialize the production of cellulosic ethanol. POET announced that a pilot plant is under construction in Scotland, S.D. and will be operational later this year.
